Congratulations! You’ve made the decision to study overseas.

Studying abroad, or even within New Zealand if you are a New Zealander, is an exciting adventure. But like all adventures, this comes with some level of risk. That’s why it’s important to make sure you have your medical and travel insurance under control. If you are coming to New Zealand, you’ll also need medical cover to qualify for an international student visa. Use the Policy Finder to narrow your policy search, or click on each policy to learn more about the policy and to get a quote.

If you are not an international student or you are studying at a different educational provider, we can still provide you with a policy.

Instead of snow, we mostly get rain and wind. It’s certainly not terrible – but it does give you a good excuse to go somewhere sunny if you have the time and budge

Seasonsafe Inbound

Working in a new country is an exciting adventure, but like all travel, this comes with some level of risk. Comprehensive medical and travel insurance is required for all seasonal workers during their period of stay in New Zealand. It is recommended that Seasonal workers are insured prior to their arrival in New Zealand, and for the duration of their stay.

Policy Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for the Seasonsafe policy if you hold a current Recognised Seasonal Employer Visa.

Record of Cover

You will be sent a Policy Certificate electronically. This will be emailed to you as soon as you have confirmed your policy and paid the premium. The Policy Certificate will include specific information about your policy including your period of cover. We recommend that you store this in a safe place.

Policy Claims Excess

No excess will be deducted if you make a claim under Section 2: Medical Benefits. However, a policy excess of $50 applies to each separate event giving rise to a claim under all other sections. An excess of NZ$200 to your standard policy excess of $50 will apply once for each separate event giving rise to a claim for loss or theft of any portable electronic devices under Section 4: Personal Baggage, Effects and Personal Money Benefits. Please refer to the Policy Wording for detailed terms of cover.

Pre-existing Medical Conditions

Some Pre-existing Medical Conditions are automatically covered under this policy. Please review the Policy Wording to determine if your condition is covered. If you require cover for additional Pre-existing Medical Conditions, you will have the opportunity to apply for cover by completing a Medical Assessment form. You will be charged an additional premium if we accept cover.
